Today marks the beginning of an adventure we’ve been eagerly anticipating! The World OCR Championships 2023 – the inaugural federative championship by World Obstacle, under FISO. It promises to be a magical weekend filled with the most exhilarating sporting emotions in the world’s greatest sport – Obstacle Course Racing (OCR). We’re proudly placing 4 of our obstacles along the race course. So enjoy!!!
Today, we’re excited to introduce them to you and discuss the rules for conquering them. You can catch all the event highlights soon in the next installment of our blog and on the TOROZ TV channel (link here).
You will be able to test the elements of these obstacles before the race at our stand, we have prepared a warm-up cage for you to get a close feeling with what we have for you on the course. The track with our elements is also available on the cage prepared by World Obstacle in the warm-up area
Obstacle #1: HOLY BULL (High to Low)
Familiar from the 2022 European Championships in Italy and the 2023 event in Hungary, HOLY BULL is a fast but technical challenge. You might also encounter it at races like Gladiator Race in the Czech Republic or Runmageddon in Poland, and several others across Europe in the coming year 😊
Rules for Conquering:
Allowed – how to do it:
- Start before the line, grabbing the hanging rope to reach the Disc grip.
- Move by grabbing next Disc grips, then stationary handles to descend to a lower level where you’ll find five spheres. You’re quite low now, be cautious not to touch the ground.
- By grabbing the spheres in any order, make your way to the bell.
Forbidden, don’t do it:
- You cannot use the metal structure.
- You cannot touch the metal elements of the Balls and Discs – only the colored parts.
- You don’t have to grab every grip (only the rope is obligatory), you can skip some using your arm’s reach.
- You cannot touch the ground before ringing the bell.

Obstacle #2: Firefighter
This obstacle consists of 10 hanging pipes with ropes we call Firemans. Red ropes goes out of the pipes, which you must grasp with your hands. Your goal is to move from the first Fireman to the bell.
Rules for Conquering:
Allowed – how to do it:
- Start before the line, grabbing any Fireman you reach. Progress to the next one along your chosen path until you reach the bell. You don’t have to grab each one; you can bypass them.
- The use of legs is allowed.
Forbidden, don’t do it:
- You cannot use the metal structure.
- You cannot grab the pipes from the top of the, or their securing chains and carabiners – USE ONLY the strings.
- You cannot touch the ground before ringing the bell.

Obstacle #3: WERTICAL MOVING BOARD
This obstacle consists of movable walls and a net in the configuration of walls + net + wall. Your task is to start in front of the line and traverse the path to the bell by gripping the walls and net with your hands and feet.
Rules for Conquering:
Allowed – how to do it:
- You cannot use the metal structure.
- You cannot grab the metal elements securing the walls, such as chains or carabiners.
- You cannot touch the ground before ringing the bell.
